About Me
My name is Robby A., and I was separated for the last time from drugs and alcohol on August 21, 1996. Recovery introduced me to prayer early on, but it took a long time for it to become something personal and real in my life. Over the years I collected prayers, adapted others, and gradually learned how to speak to a Higher Power in my own words. Prayers for Everyone Else is my first book. It grew out of that process. The book includes simple, practical prayers for everyday life. Just as importantly, it explores how to adapt prayers or create your own, so that prayer becomes something honest and usable in your own voice. I still struggle with prayer, which is one reason that I wrote this book. I live in Austin, Texas with my wife and our two dogs. By day I work in technology, and play music whenever I get the chance. Being a girl dad twice over is one of the great joys of my life.
